Parent/Guest Access

Steps for authorizing access to your student record and/or UM Pay for a parent or guest are described below at these links:

Student records view-only access

Your academic progress at the University is recorded online in a dynamic profile called your student record where essential markers are compiled and continually updated. Online self-service tools allow you or any person you authorize to review your record anytime you need to make informed choices about your University education.

permits any person you choose to have view-only access to one or more of these eight categories in your student record.

  • Enrollment summary
  • Grades
  • Holds
  • Financial aid status
  • View financial aid awards
  • Housing contract, assignment and billing
  • Student conduct in on-campus housing
  • Student account

How to authorize access

  1. Login to the secure application online.
  2. Send your parent or a guest viewer an e-mail invitation generated within the application.
  3. Your guest responds to the e-mail invitation by clicking on a link given in the e-mail.
  4. Once your guest responds, grant her/him viewing rights to one or more of the eight subject areas.
  5. You may cancel access to your student record at any time.

Billing view and/or pay access

UM Pay, the University’s official online billing and payment system, allows you to grant access to any person you choose to view and/or pay the charges on your online billing statement. UM Pay is the quickest way for you or a guest payee to pay online from a checking or savings account or a valid credit card (MasterCard, DISCOVER, or American Express only). If you or your guest make an online credit card payment, an additional non-refundable 2.75 percent service charge per credit card transaction will be added to the amount paid.

How to authorize access

  1. Click on "UM Pay login for student." to login to UM Pay
  2. Look for the "Authorize payers" link in the left navigation.
  3. Follow the instructions provided.
  4. Your guest will be notified via e-mail of the Login Name that you have created for them and you will need to notify your parent/guest with their temporary password.
  5. Your parent/guest will be required to reset your temporary password upon logging in to the system.
  6. You may cancel viewing access to your UM Pay account at any time.
